Occasionally, being an impeccable Supply Chain professional stationed at the Headquarter isn’t sufficient. On a certain occasion, a colleague from the Market organization insisted that I accompany a Sales Representative for a pivotal customer visit in the midst of a supply crisis. Despite grappling with a sense of powerlessness concerning the root causes of the crisis, I willingly embraced the challenge.
That day emerged as one of the most enlightening in my career. Engaging with the Sales rep, conversing with doctors, collaborating with the customer’s Supply Chain team, and even participating in a surgery unraveled the profound purpose of our work.
The lesson? Break free from the confines of your ivory tower; step into a sales rep’s shoes!
