28. Juli 2024

During our recent IBP/IBSing practitioners call, we explored the shift from micromanagement to intrapreneurship. Here are the insights from our breakout sessions:

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?
𝑳𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: Reluctance to delegate tasks, leading to top-heavy decision-making and delays.
𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: Making all decisions, stifling employee creativity and input.
𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: Constantly overseeing work, which undermines trust and autonomy.
𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒕: Taking credit for others‘ ideas, which demotivates the team.
𝑶𝒃𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈: Overpowering stakeholders with too many details and not allowing team ownership.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩?

𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩:

𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕-𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑: Focus on results and outcomes rather than micromanaging processes.
𝑰𝒅𝒆𝒂 𝑩𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔: Develop idea boards to collect and review innovative ideas from the team.
